It has officially been a year since the world shut down from Covid 19. Although we are not back to our precovid lives many of us are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. People are getting vaccinated, warmer weather allowing outdoor activities is returning, and frankly many of us are more than happy to "mask up" if it means we can travel again. So, even if you do not think you will be ready to travel till fall - NOW is the time to start the planning process.
Disney World is only open at limited capacity and they are now practically sold out for Spring Break weeks. Families are ready to vacation - even without parades and character greetings and with masks. A little bit a Disney Magic for many is coming in the next few weeks. However, if you had waited to make your plans for Spring Break to Disney World, you are now out of luck. There is simply not a ticket to be had, as Disney is sticking to their strict Covid protocol (as they should!)
So what can we learn from this? That now is the time to plan. Flights have waived changed fees, and hotels can be booked that allow free cancellation. If you think you are going to want to travel this summer or fall - I would not wait for several reasons.
Today is Dr. Seuss's birthday and Read Across America day. What a better day to talk about the connection between reading and travel. Plus our companies name comes right from a Dr. Seuss book as well. Let's explore why reading and books are so important to each our travel adventures.
For many of us a vacation is finally a time to curl up with a book we had been wanting to read. Who does not love sitting on the beach with a good book and the ocean breeze?
Books can also help us dream of places we want to visit. We have purposely scheduled stops on our vacations to see sights that books have brought to life. Especially during this past year, when travel has been a challenge, books can still help us explore the world.
So, on Read Across American day, let's use our books to help us discover the world that we are ready to begin exploring. Travel is becoming more and more of a possibility as the vaccines rollout around the world. So let's pick up a book, start dreaming, start planning, and go back to exploring!!
